Live + Work in Maine Open canceled for 2020

Korn Ferry Tour event will return to schedule in 2021

PORTLAND, Maine – Shamrock Sports & Entertainment and the PGA TOUR announced today that the inaugural 2020 Live + Work in Maine Open, scheduled June 8-14 at the Falmouth Country Club, has been canceled due to ongoing travel, business, and social restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Live + Work in Maine Open, part of the Korn Ferry Tour, was scheduled to be contested at Falmouth Country Club the week of June 8-14. The five-year contract for the event will now begin in 2021.

“While all businesses face uncertainty related to the current COVID-19 pandemic, in the short term we need to play our broader responsibility to society’s efforts to tackle this global challenge,” said Shamrock CEO Brian Corcoran. “We are committed to delivering community, charitable and economic impact in 2021 with the Live + Work in Maine Open tournament at Falmouth Country Club, as well as related festivities across our great state.  We will all get through this together and we look forward to celebrating an exciting event that Mainers and tourists alike will cherish for many years to come.”

The announcement was made in conjunction with the Korn Ferry Tour, which today postponed one event until later in 2020 while canceling two others due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. Since March 12, the Tour has now canceled nine events while postponing three for dates TBA later this year.

Shamrock & Live + Work in Maine Open personnel will be in direct communications with all sponsors, ticket holders and volunteers as we look to drive value to you and our commitment to raise $100,000+ annually to our beneficiary the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.
